Ipswich Srilankika Ekamuthuwa is a Srilankan social welfare society started by gathering Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims.
As well as the work done in England, the society is investing time, money and labour in Sri Lanka. Our plans include helping under-resourced schools in order to allow children to fulfil their potential academically and in sports; we intend to help in other ways, such as distributing spectacles and school books.

What we have done so far……
In the UK:
We have organised and successfully held several Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations in Ipswich UK. Also there were several community events to celebrate new year eve as well as to support elderly homes. We have celebrated Vesak event with a free Srilankan food for all in 2013. furthermore, we have organised the first ever East Anglian soft ball tournament in Ipswich. Organised Buddhist Blessing to Her Majesty the Queen, on Her 91st Birthday, with Heathrow Athula Dassana Multi Cultural Buddhist Community Centre.
In the Sri Lanka:
Opened a free computer education centre in Ibbagamuwa, Srilanka. Also a volunteer run computer education centre in Athurugiriya, Srilanka. Held multiple charity events to distribute School books, pens, pencils amongst disadvantaged school children. Trustee run scholarship program for disadvantaged children.

Up coming events 2024:
As part of our training and overseas aids for 2024, we are looking to launch our cricket coaching program in Sri Lanka for the under-resourced schools that cannot afford cricket training to develop children’s basic cricketing skills.
The charity cricket coaching program’s 1st stage will run from 21st – 25th October 2024 in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.
We believe that in urban areas and many big schools, cricket is well resourced.
But our initiative will eventually provide villages and under-resourced schools
with some opportunity to support children with great passion for cricket and
improve their chance to perform on the big stage.
1st stage of this program will support young cricketers from two chosen schools in the southern province of Sri Lanka, which cannot afford basic cricket facilities and coaching staff for children below 15 years of age.
